Why is my computer running so slow?
If your computer is running slow there are a lot of possible reasons. Most likely it is a combination of several causes. The most common external causes are spyware and viruses but internal problems like a fragmented disk and unused programs and computer networks. You should establish a regular computer maintenance routine to make sure your machine is always in good running condition. Start by defragmenting your disk. Then run the disk clean up utility in Windows. Disconnect any network drive that you are no longer using and uninstall any unused or unneeded programs. Install and run a spyware detecting program. I like Spybot. It’s good and it’s free. Install and run a virus program. If you do all of these steps and your computer is still running slowly there are probably registry problems that need to be fixed. We recommend RegCure
Should I just give up and buy a new computer?
No. At least not yet. In the worst case you may need to reinstall Windows and you will lose all your setting and also have to reinstall your software applications. If you can start your computer you have a chance to make it as good as new with the tools described here.
What will happen if I don’t fix my registry errors?
One thing for sure is your computer won’t be getting better. Your computer will continue to run slower and slower and be less enjoyable to operate. It will become more likely that your computer will become completely inoperable. If this happens you will either be out looking to buy a shinning new computer or you’ll have to reinstall the operating system and all your programs with a good chance of loosing all your data that you haven’t backed up to another drive or media.
We recommend RegCure as a great way to keep your computer running in tip top shape.
